The Nazis had several concentration camps for every death camp they operated. Concentration camps were first used by Spain in Cuba in 1898 and soon after by the British in the second Baor War in 1901. Harold Ickes, FDR's Secretary of the Interior, said that the euphemism. internment camps of Japanese Americans during WWII was inappropriate and that they should be considered concentration camps. So while the concentration camps are not as bad as death camps they are truly BAD.
We disagree. There is death happening there, murders, rapes, assaults, torture, disappearances, missing persons, and frankly, with no transparency, who knows the actual number of any of these crimes? They tell us they’ve deported thousands, but how do we know? Because they say so? I’m not precious about labels. Concentration Camp, Death Camp, no matter, atrocities, crimes are committed there, while ignoring our laws and Constitution. Without any transparency.
I have friends who live in Wash County, including one who served on Town Council for one of the small towns near Hagerstown. Unfortunately, the ICE prison has significant support not just w the totally feckless board but also with what seems like a majority of locals. My friend was ousted from her Town Council seat during an election when MAGA swept all seats and immediately started to dismantle any progress that was made. Dems & Progressives in Washington County are up against some pretty tough odds and I have tons of respect for their continued commitment to fighting the good fight. I think state level opposition- starting with this lawsuit and including the important work you are doing to get the facts out is incredibly important.
Michael, have you asked the do-nothing, lay-down-and-play-dead Washington County Council what they think about the damage this facility will bring to their county? The details you reveal haven't been publicly known before now. Even MAGAlites might pause when raw sewage is polluting their waterways.
Doesnt DHS have a contract with a porta potty company waiting to make a fortune? Bottled water and meals shipped in. Stagger people into showers once a week. EVIL
The facts presented here are so very important. They sure prove that a typical warehouse is absolutely no place to house humans ethically or practically. Add these facts together with the deaths, disease and emergency situations current camps are facing and you have a no-brainer. Shut these horrific impractical places down. Keep folks in their own homes. Provide decent and lawful paths to citizenship
