I live in Cascade, Md and I’ve seen the corruption across the board since 2022 because we’ve been fighting a Dollar General store from being built up here. We have a specific zone that does not include stores like these and the zoning board, which is elected by the BOCC, did not listen to the petition of 500 people and went with the 50 to make a “special exception” for the developers and keep trying to vote it in. I went to a meeting in the very beginning and the zoning board was extremely rude to a grocery store owner (sweet mom and pop shop) telling them they were the “big guys in town” when they started so basically it’s time to move over. I was so angry because the Sanders are seriously the nicest family! They have been in business for 60 years up here. We already have a DG literally 2 miles from the beautiful scenic location they want to put it on. The Zoning board was yucking it up with the developers and shaking their hands after the meeting. You could see what side they were on very blatantly! Guaranteed they are getting a personal cut from this deal and I wish we could get an undercover report on this as well as a Sheetz that’s also being fought against, because we know they work for themselves. This case is now in Annapolis.
As soon as I saw what they were doing with this warehouse I knew the corruption that was happening! Thank you to everyone trying to stop this because these creeps are relentless in their corruption!!

Some of us stay outside, some go inside to listen to the meetings. Follow the money and the backdoor dealings that Gordon will be pocketing. When someone like her asks for $380 million to be used towards improvements in her district and invites trump and Noem to visit, she’s either looking to move to DC and or taking kickbacks.
Chairman Barr’s company, Ellsworth Electric, receives Fed contracts. The others have interests at the airport, in safety training & real estate. Derek Harvey left, because he couldn’t keep his campaign finances straight, or file on time. Besides being buds with Bannon, & probably contributing to the latest Iran War debacle.
Social Circle, Ga put a lock on the warehouse water meter when city officials could not get answers from the feds concerning the carrying capacity of city utilities:
It seems that local officials can be as greedy (even if they were not lining their pockets) and prone to lie as the administration in Washington. I hope this does help transparency in the long run for folks in Washington County.
I have a word change suggestion for BaltSaltBox: HRR is a citizens’ rights group, not just an immigrant rights group. At this point, citizens’ rights to know what their local government intends, is deeply compromised. We do NOT have representative government, at this point.
There will be a no kings in Hagerstown, not at camp location, in town. Join us. I was at the no testimony hearing/vote with the audible chants of protestors outside the only sound those who didn't support the conversion could make. Terrific reporting on this piece and without you we'd know next to nothing about this. I still don't think we know all there is to know about who will benefit from this influx of money.

And that's the same NAACP local chapter President to whom that same BOCC presented a proclomation embracing February 2024, as Black History Month in Washington County. Seems proclomations come cheap to this gang.
Surely Washington County can find better county commissioners than liars and thieves.
