A state environmental order bars the county from expanding its sewer system, the latest obstacle in a legal fight over the federal government's plan to detain immigrants in a warehouse there
Good news. Paragon that has the contract to run the detention center. How do we find out who Paragon's other clients are? It is a subsidiary of Securitas. I don't want a dollar of my state and local taxes going to either company. Everyone should know their tax dollars are going to companies that are carrying out a major human rights disaster.
Boom! This is the path to victory for sites across the country. Coalition to Shut the Camps, Romulus MI is building the same case to achieve victory. See us at shuttthecamps.org; we built a tool we call the “regulatory punch list” that builds out the impacts and timelines for creating a detention camp- including water, sewer and energy demands. DM for info. Salt Box has access.
My hope is those good people who want this prison like it when the sewage runs into their streets and creeks. Do you think ICE is going to let prisoners outside to use the toilets or get water? The first sign will be the big rats joining your community.
Sounds like Washington County wants Trump to pay for some expensive work before moving in to arrest ,beat , starve and murder more innocent people. Just love those Washington County commissioners trying to fleece the man who never pays his bills.
Obviously DHS has no concern for the wellbeing of their detainees. Have you ever lived without a sanitary bathroom? However, the proposed facility would be harming far more people than the detainees and staff alone. The entire County would be effected, according to the State regulators.
Good news. And hard work by salt box and Hagerstown folks and allies.
It was a $hitty deal and they knew it

Will that matter ? I don't think sanitation is a top priority for the detainees

Same story all around the country.
